What to expect
At Chris' Place, our goal is to provide support and the time and space for rest to improve wellbeing and prevent needing a higher level of care. During this time the purpose is to alleviate emotional and mental distress.
-
Guests typically stay between one and two weeks.
-
During a guests' stay, trained peer specialists will help guests strengthen personal wellness and resilience, and connect them to other services and support in the community. They may participate in peer counseling, support groups, arts activities, and other soothing activities such as baking cookies.
-
Most importantly, they can rest in a tranquil setting for a time to gather strength and resilience before returning home.
-
The location and facility is designed to feel more like a home-based wellness retreat rather than a sterile clinical setting. It is intended to foster a calming environment where guests can focus on their wellbeing.
-
Chris' Place is not a shelter. Individuals must have a place to live and ability to return to that environment after checking out of Chris' Place.
