April is Alcohol Awareness month and here at The CAF we are celebrating the growth of the sober curious movement. "Sober curious" is a term that gained popularity in recent years, particularly among millennials and Generation Z. It refers to a lifestyle choice or trend where individuals are exploring and questioning their relationship with alcohol, often by reducing or abstaining from drinking altogether. People who identify as sober curious may be motivated by various factors such as health, wellness, mental clarity, personal growth, or simply curiosity about what life might be like without alcohol.
The sober curious movement encourages individuals to examine the role of alcohol in their lives and to make conscious decisions about their consumption rather than simply adhering to societal norms or expectations. This can involve participating in alcohol-free events, socializing without alcohol, or experimenting with periods of sobriety to observe how it affects their physical and mental well-being. Some people may choose to moderate their drinking rather than abstain completely, while others may find that sobriety aligns better with their overall life goals and values..
